Townsville is too hot for me. The cook and I decided long ago that the habitable portion of Australia is from Grafton to Gladstone within thirty miles of the coast. The rest of Oz is either too hot or too cold.
Only been to townsville once and loved it .... can't wait to go back and cut sick on a dirt bike in the scrub ... was alot of fun ... great place :D
Christ no, to hot for that. That would have been one of the 3 or 4 days of the year I wore shorts :D:D
I miss Townsville. It's a terrific place. I did my first degree up there.
It's not too hot: 31 every day in Summer. 21-25 in winter.
When you move, make sure you:
a) climb Castle Hill
b) visit Frosty Mango (40 mins north) for an icecream
c) try out the rock slides in Crystal Creek
d) Spend some time exploring Maggie Isle in a Moke
e) get out to the Reef!!
There are some great places to take your Landy too. I went on a little jaunt with a Willys Jeep into the forest near Cardwell to look at the waterfalls, that was a good trip.
Lots of amazing wildlife to find as well, if you're into that sort of thing...
Take your Land Rover to Land Rovers Only in Garbutt. Tim is a magician.
All the best

And avoid the masked wine tastings in the city's parks and Esplanade. Take an AK47 out with you if you like to go for a walk at night.
I climbed castle hill the other day, behind the wheel of the D3:cool:
