Wrong again, the last of the Clevelands built in Australia were exported to DeTamaso for the Panteras and Longchamps. Ford Australia had been supplying engines to DeTamaso since the yanks stopped building the Cleveland.

Not directed at anyone in particular, but for easy-going, landy-owning types, you people sure get fired up.

    Ah what a funny thread.

Mac struts handling better than double A arms/wishbones??? (I think F1 is going struts all round next year)

Holden whinged that Ford had the advantage here and wanted the same setup.
Lets not forget Holdens pathetic attempt at wing design on the '93 spec cars- had to be modified to Fords specs. The trailing lip on the Holdens tapered off to near horizontal, while the Ford wing pointed skyward...Old days anyway.

Obviously I'm a Ford fan. We have two XB coupe projects on the go and I have also owned a number of Escorts. I'd love an XR6t or typhoon- to tow the RX7 with to race meets!

As for the current state of racing. I must say I'm a bit over it. Once the 'control' body shell for both manufacturers is in (ala NASCAR-only difference being panels/grille), I will no longer care what happens at all. As it is the Holden had to be shortened and narrowed to fit the current rules- look at the rear doors for size/shape!

I'll stick with club level racing. Much more fun being involved than watching- even at the lowest levels!
