    Hiring a 4 x 4 for Fraser...

    Not for me...

But a friend is heading up to Fraser in January, He doesn't own a 4x4 and is going to hire one up there.... he has done a bit of off road and sand driving previously.

Can anyone recommend somewhere decent up there to hire from?... I think he is going across from Harvey..

When I was up there last year most hire vehicles looked pretty poor... just wondered if anyone here knows of a decent one?

    Cheers, Mark

Bay 4wd Hire at Pialba. Although they don't do landrovers, they are all late model Hilux's, 100 Series Cruisers or Suzuki's.

Aussie Trax do Fenders but having seen how they repair them I wouldn't risk my family in one.

Tell him to take plenty of fly repelant. They get pretty big from that time on.

A friend hired a aussie trax fender. It was ok, and capable as you'd expect, but didn't look too well maintained. Also the jack didn't work for some reason. He got a flat and ended up having to use my jack.

I had to rescue one at Knifeblade Sandblow that the steering arm had parted company with the tierod. On closer inspection, the arm was just a bit of hollow bar with no threads on it and a hose clamp on it
