Wanna carry a 4.6 short motor over for jik22?
Hmm, I could drive yours then go to Derby to get the Disco to drive back!

hi guy's firstly i'd like to publicly thank amtravic for spending his saturday going and looking at a car for me.
so obviously i might be buying a car from victoria, and am looking into the different possibilities of bringing it back to perth.
my first option is to fly over and drive it back and whilst i don't mind doing it or the fuel cost my worry is breaking down half way across in the middle of nowhere though it would give me the time to get to know the car.
secondly i could road transport it back - which isn't cheap but probably cheaper than flying/driving but all the transport agencies i've contacted want the car empty and seeing as it comes with a bit of spares is not what i'm looking for.
thirdly, someone has mentioned bringing it back by rail which i can't seem to find anything about it on the internet.
so my questions are what in yhour opinion is the best way to go about it and does anybody have any first hand experiance of this or know of any companies - names or numbers that i can contact.
regards jason

I wouldn't mind being a co driver from Melbourne to Perth - that is a trip I would like to do.
I have to do some work in Perth at some stage - so I can cover my return flight from work.

Your going to have to buy a trailer for all the extras youll be bringing back as well as all your passengers![]()
i cant afford a trailer at the minute. i'm going to look at 2 damaged 130's today so might be coming home with a couple more landy's (claire's well happy -not). i'm thinking if i can make 1 good one out of both then i can either use it for work and sell my ute or sell it on and pocket the cash. either way i've got to get rid of the wreck that's currently in there cos i need the room.
Car rail transport from Melbourne is not possible at moment you have to drive to Adelaide to put it on train and like road transport the car has to be empty this is stop railway employees from being sacked for thieving from your car
