Ron, a toilet can be in a internal room. but a exust fan must be wired to the light switch as stated above.

Queensland must need the fan come on with the light too as this is what we have. Makes it hard to sit and think with the fan buzzing overhead. Makes your feet cold on the tiles in winter too as it sucks the air in under the door
