Anyone want to buy a cheap brand new snatch strap and shackes ? And 20 litre plastic diesel container and water container, etc.

What's the name and address of the independent LR workshop in Broome where she can drop the wheel off - someone might be able to use it.

More ridiculous stuff, i take it the ohs stuff is about loose items in the vehicle, sounds wierd to me, as b dave says strap it all down, if its being transported they wouldn;t be driving it. except up and down ramps.
After all its your gear and vehicle, what if you were transporting back after a trip, by what you said you would have to get rid of all your travelling gear.

If she'd told me earlier, I'd have told her to pack it up and put it on BusFreight as there's a pick-up at Derby.

    Too late now.

The wheel/tyre are not worth shipping but it's OK for someone up there as an emergency spare. I can accept not shipping the empty plastic fuel jerry but the water one should be Ok behind the cargo barrier.

I've SMSed her Brad's BIL details and Danny's.

It's certainly not worth mucking about with shipping the shackles and snatch strap, the tools (they were only SuperCheap ones I bought to travel over to Derby with), and spares. I can't remember what else there was. It's more annoying than anything else.

I guess it depends on how hard they look in the car.

    Right, I'm back.

The engine is out of the P38A. Tomorrow I strip it to take the heads and inlet manifold to Bruce Davis for working over.

RE the daughter. I told her to try the transport co. - the worst they could say was no. If they did she was gunna drop the stuff to Danny (Broome Defender) or Simon at Broome Motors.

When she got to the transport place, they said it was OK as those bits were part of the car. They only meant she could have suitcases. etc., in the car.

    Flamin' heck.

So I'll see what arrives from Derby when it gets here.

I'll see her tomorrow, she's on the midnight flight from Broome.

    Cargo in vehicle?

That nearly happened to me when our Defender Td5 broke in Newman a couple of years ago. Had a fridge full of food, spare wheel on roof, back full of tinned food and perishables, plus heaps of other stuff like tyre changing gear etc.
When it eventually got back to Perth 3 weeks later it stunk to high heaven as everything had gone off!

And the fat yard boy at Autotrans in Kewdale had the cheek to tell me HE wouldn't have allowed anything to be bought back which wasn't part of the vehicle original fittings........... throw out the 1500 buck bolted down fridge, tinned food, spare on roof, all tools, everything!
Plus if it happened again they wanted access to the camper trailer and would ditch everything out of that if it didn't conform to what HE thought should be allowed!!!
That was locked with 2 good padlocks to stop any access from light fingered idiots and that as far as I was concerned was good enough.
Land Rover Australia and the RACWA said they wouldn't use Autotrans again because of their attitude so beware of them if you breakdown.

No Td5 now so fingers crossed it doesn't happen, but if it does someone should be able to fix a 300Tdi........
