Maybe now some of the dealers will re-think the price of the TD5 Defenders on their lots e.g $50K for a 2005 110.
Who'd pay that when in a few months you'll be able to get the new model one for almost the same price ?

I thought Ford buying LR was a good thing at first. If you could buy them through Ford dealerships and get them serviced etc and ford could have pushed them into the rural market and got them out there. The reverse happened and LR if they stop making defenders, which could happen as they don't make enough to warrant designing a new one could cease being the leader in off road vehicles and instead make yuppy cars. C'mon, they do sell 20-odd thousand of them a year! I don't think any car manufacturer would walk away from that kind of market.
