    Perth member working in Brisbane

As of Wednesday 26th Sep I'll be back working in Brisbane for 2 weeks. If there is any members in the area that would like to come and say hello, give me a call on 041 8844 562 to arrange a time.
I will be at work from 0800 through to 1800 for most days whilst in Bris, so you will need to come and visit me at Archerfield Airport, where I am based as a Helitack pilot.
My days are very casual, unless we get a call out! so am more than happy to give members and their kids a look at Fire fighting helicopters.
Just call first to make sure where not out on a fire.

    Regards,

    Greg

Archerfield - Jeez, I haven't been there for years. When I was at high school, I used to ride my pushbike from both Calamvale and Inala (a dirt road in those days) to Archerfield to photograph 'planes.

Ahh, all the colour slides I have of aircraft in the Ansett Air Race in 1964 ......

Great memories of the days when one could walk around airfields. I've even got photos I took of some Mosquitos down the back of the field.

Ron - naturally you had to hand tint those slides to be colourised...

Seriously though, assuming you weren;t photographing insects in the swamp, are you able to post any of the mozzie pics ? I'm a HUGE de Havilland fan !

    Cheeky bugger.

The Mossie pics are black and white and taken with a box Brownie so the quality isn't great.

I'll have to find the album.

You'd be jealous of the fact that I was able to climb in an around them.

    G'day P38arover

Aah! the Ansett Air Race I remember that, was at Archerfield that day (lived at Inala Brolga st) with my near new son, and saw Reg Ansett fly the DC-3 between the hangers at not much more that roof level didn't think that you could do things like that with an Airliner (they were in regular service then) do you remember all the Ex-Airforce planes on the otherside of Beattie Rd for scrapping, with what became Thiess Bros hanger over on Kerry Rd (with the Hole in between) the remains of the Lincoln would have been down there with the Mossies.

    cheers
