Thread: The Basin (Vic)

It's at the base of the Dandenong ranges, and there is plenty to look at up there from the thousand steps in Ferntree gully and the flower and fruit farms at Silvan to the Warburton trail from Lilydale through to Warburton which is a great bike ride that I have done once and prbably never again as Im not that fit.

Theres a great pub at Mt Dandenong to have a meal and a beer and plenty of cafe's and antique shops if thats your thing.

Not a lot on the flat ground at the bottom though, basically suburbia and plenty of shops at Knox city of Boronia if you need anything and cinima's and bowling also at Knox.

All this is within roughly 30mins from the Basin, some of the stuff in the hills can be a bit confusing to find as the roads wind around a fair bit and a lot of folks get lost so they can take you a bit longer.

Take a bit more time if you can and go out to Emerald lake or even better go to Belgrave and jump on Puffing billy and go to Emerald lake and have a wander around the gardens, they are quite amazing.

I lived up that way for about 10 years.
