    high country recovery

    Just reading a mag called outer edge and there is an artical on high country recovery

    David Stevenson....he runs Aerial Motors...high county recoveries, bush rescues and 4wd salvage since 1940

    He says they do 6-7 recoveries a day at the moment.

    Rates his 80 series as well, stock, AT tyres, lsd, low mount winch

    Quote 'we go to one particular area, Salt Lick Saddle up on Grim Creek, its always a very well planned operation and we take three vehicles with six to seven blokes. That's probably the most full on place we have to go. I've been in there to pull people out and had to go back a week later for their vehicles.

    Anybody heard of this guys or needed his assistance

    thats the crux of it....

    we dont know about him as our gear is perfectly capable of getting us where we want to go regardless of where we want to go is.

    I've taken the trusty Landie up there. I found that track in the 70's. I took a newish '76 Nissan patrol (scuze my french) down it once and the standard floormats kept on rolling over onto the pedals it was so steep. Crappy thin vinyl was replaced after that experience.
    I tried taking the same Nissan up it and the oil ran out the steering column into my lap.- the floormats were stored in the back by then.
