Not applicable to manual. Speed vs RPM...well not sure technically but once you've owned a car for a while, you'll know that when doing 60km/h, she might be sitting on 2100RPM. but if now she's on 2500RPM, then perhaps the engine is working harder to keep the speed up due to the lost power through slipping bands.

From experience, subaru autos rarely give troubles. i would suggest you perhaps get a code check first, as it may brng up something easy like a maf sensor, and then you can go from there.
