switch over to series III rims which are solid construction and the same as county/defender/perentine.

I found that the larger tires improved (on road)handling on my S3.

Could be going to radials from rags.. Fuel usage to increased a bit...

The ride is a bit better with 15" radials,compared to 7.50x16 rags,plus they handle better.
Disco steelies are good,but not quite up to the weight loading of a 109",88" are fine.

That's interesting, we run a set of Disco steels on our Defender for trips out in the wilds, and just by looking at the build of them, they would seem to me to be a fair bit stronger than Series rims.

And for interest sake, we never ran anything but 750/16's on our old Stage 1, and she took us all over the place without any worries, including Simpson, Cape York and Fraser Island. Wide tyres, to me, seem to tramline on any imperfections on a roads surface.
