Just like to point out that the H3's for Australia are being built in South Africa... you know the palace its where the quality built Defenders and Freelanders came from for a while

    I think its appropriate

Working with one of those babies is a very religeous experience

Its a very calming sensation as something that you cant put your finger on then the dust begins to jump then your ears are assulted as the ground shakes then bedlam ensues. After it starts to settle your aware of a keening noise that you just cant work out and a heat akin to that found at the gates of hell.....

And Thats just starting it up...

I'm looking forward to seeing the article, I dont believe a Std H3 with Std tyres can get up Rocky...
I dont beleive any 4wd in STD trim with STD tyres can get up rocky... Maybe the 1st part, but the ledge is over 1 meter high now.
Maybe they sent a bulldozer down 1st..

Well ive been into motorsports of different kinds for about 15 years and ive done some crazy stuff, but to do rocky with little experiance would scare the Sheit out most people... most would not even attempt it....

I had a go in one of the original Hummers that came into WA under a special permit as they were too wide to comply. I recall that it had a bloody great lump between the front seats (the engine?) that made vertically disadvantaged me feel like I was sitting in an ARB transit case. There was a hell of a lot of noise and not much action from memory, despite all those litres.

That would be a good reason for the wide track that humvees have.

There was a humvee in a group ahead of us, heading for Birdsville on the QAA line.

They had followed Madigans line, across the Simpson, we went down the Hay River.

The humvee was not as large as I had expected from only seeing pics before. They are wide, but even with 40" tyres, this one was considerably shorter than my disco.
