It's never nice when this sort of thing happens and I was unaware of the demerit system. However I guess it is a road related area so why not have a demerit system.

Onto the reason for the post - "This is a country of freedom of speech" well unless things have changed with the constitution that is not completely correct.
    • Unless I am wrong and the Law relating to "Free speech" have changed, then it was only ever "permitted" within strictly controlled times and place. I can remember heading off with my parents to Sydney's Domain on a Sunday afternoon to listen to various speakers proffering their own particular slant on the world. Similar comments made in an alternative fora would have landed many in prison.
    • We have no "bill of rights" codifying the right to free speech.
    • Recent anti-terrorism laws have reminded us about this lack of the right to free speech, particularly as it relates to sedition.
So I guess this carries on to this forum - if we want to play in the AULRO's sand pit then we play by their rules and accept the umpires decisions - or we take our spade and bucket and find another sand pit to play in.

    Just my thoughts.

Further to everyone elses comments, Being a PUBLIC area, the majority don't want to see /be exposed to petty and childish unpleasantness etc, so If any member has an ISSUE to go on about and just HAS to say something to another, then do it via the PM system. Where no one has to view it.

I'm not singling out here, as I have no idea what the recent stuff was all about, but I just thought now was as good a time as any to mention this.

Be nice and have a group hug now and then.

I thought I'd left the personal attacks behind when I left the Overlander amd A4WDM fora.

A number of other fora also have the problem. I prefer to not go there.

Mate if you have them like me you will find them listed in your use CP Profle. Tells you what you got them for, how many and when they will expire.

    TO Clarkie:
You cant go Clarkie, If been there and done that and it just doesn't happen.
Yes there are some ??? let just say people that do post negative derogatory comments directed at people and when you give it back to them they go and cry to Mod then BANG, you cop the points.

So I feel it is best just to cry first and get in before them and dont post a reply to there crap and just inform a MOD and make them do some work.
Then hopefully the point will go to the whoms that have been dogging them so far and deserve it.
Things wont go to far if stopped earlier.

Not passing judgement on this scenario at all due to not really knowing the ins & outs of it, but this forum is not a place of free speech. You may feel that you are entitled to free speech, but the owners of this board are free to host, or to not host what they choose - and so that will make this place, or any other place such as this and environment where freedom of speech is not the case.

Moderators and administrators have a job to do at the end of the day its up to them to evaluate the situation they are chosen for there understanding. We all have bad days,we all get rubbed up the wrong way sometimes, its how you deal with it that makes you understand if its wrong or right.
