    Trains, you want to see trains, just for you Ron;

    my next door neighbours train set:

    And he gets paid to play with them every day. I hear you Aussies have some new fangled trains that don't run on coal/steam, must be boring.

    Just back from a month driving around NZ, did not see many D3s (or discos at all for that matter), but did see a hell of a lot of Series LR that seemed in remarkably good nick.

    We booked our tickets 4 months age and then 3 week ago we get an E-mail imforming us that us there is going to be track work, the train is only running to Arthur's Pass and then on to Greymouth by bus.

    WAS NOT HAPPY JAN!

    Arrived at Arthur's Pas yesterday in the middle of a blizzard. All track work was cancelled, so the train run all the way to Greymouth and although the buses were there, the road was closed by the snow and the buses couldn't have been used anyway.

    It's really boring here, between the blizzard yesterday and the 6.7 earth quake early this morning, not a bad trip so far.

    Saw 29 rangies, but did not distinguish model (though from memory they were mostly newer models).

    So you must've been in the Rangie part of town.
    I've seen more RRs in the last 3 days than I would seen in a year on the Gold Coast.

    Seen plenty of D1s and D2s and a few feders but not 1 D3.

    BTW, I've rented a Ford 4wd and so far, I'm impressed.

    The roads over here are great.

    No such thing as traffic

    Unbelievable country side.

    I think this will be the first of a few trips over here

    Where abouts are they, I'm in Wanaka right now and I've finally seen "a" D3.

    Lots of Rangies of all ages here too.
