Are there such people as trustworthy used Land Rover Dealers?

I may be on lookout for another disco (D2) and often see them listed in dealership listings. Are there any dealers whom others can or can't recommend? With a dealer at least there is some sort of warrantee or 'come back'. (Off list if like - PM me).
Close to Sydney or Canberra. (But then again there's nothing wrong with looking elsewehere).

Mittadisco, my local newsagents are looking to sell their D2, (getting an MPV for all their kids), it's so damn good, I just wish I had the $$$.

    PM me if you're interested...

The issue of trust, or lack thereof, is not exclusive to (used) Land Rover dealers.

Last week, (Tuesday arvo) a hailstorm ripped thru this region and wrecked many thousands of cars, including maybe 500 (or more) in used car yards.

By Saturday, the local daily paper had dealer ads, some were pushing the 'out they go - hail damaged etc' story.

The prices (hail damaged) were about the prices the dealers would have paid to acquire these cars, ex trade-in or on the wholesale market...

...but most of these cars have a zero $ value...

Our Falcon was quoted by a local repairer (following its demise in the storm) as a $14,000+ fix... its retail price on a yard is about $8,000.

So, is this car, on a yard, for sale at $4,000 a bargain?

    Makes one wonder...

I've bought many cars at auction and privately and haven't had a problem...just know what you're looking for (and at)...

    G'day Mittadisco

The one that Quiggers knows about could be the go, that is if it has a service history, or, you could look up www.britishoffroad.com up on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. as they often have S/hand D1's/D2's/Defenders and RR in stock, they are Landy service specialists and most of the staff are english and UK trained,I have been dealing with them for 15 years for parts, and always found them honest both in deals and prices. "Paxton" is the guy to speak to, tell him that Kevin put you onto him

    cheers

    cheers
