I've sometimes used my D1 to remove tree stumps, works a treat and beats digging!

Maybe we should run up a '1001 uses for a LandRover' thread....

no winch on mine but I used it to drag some bloody big limestone rocks to re-arrange the FIL's garden.

My winch removed Blacknight's clothesline cement block and then the old one beside it. It was an interesting urban winch job as we attached the snatch block to the skip in the driveway to get the right angle.

It worked but I think we used all of the 8000lbs of pull to get them out!

    Well done.

I did the same last year but without a snatch block. I also wrapped a steel cable around the tree to make certain it would happen. Tree had been dead for over a year by then and is next to the drive.

    Hi James
Good to hear from you again,AULRO is your only aussie contact with us since Black Stumps demise.Enjoy the rugby
My bro did similar but towing from the rear.
He was real lucky, the chain snaped and busted his back window.
lucky because it busted 4 ft from the landy and only had enough fling to bust the window.
A local farmer was real lucky a few weeks ago, bogged tractor, got another bigger tractor to retrieve, chain snaps visits him thru the window.Broken jaw, broken cheek, and scalped.BUT STILL HERE TO WARN OTHERS!!! Lucky man.
