    Disco 3 Oil Filter

Sounds dumb and haven't had time to do a serious look but am unsure of location of oli filter on a TDV6 Disco.
There is a likely spot on the top of the engine but it is marked with numerous warnings.
No room on the thing to see much at all.
    Any help out there.
    Thanks,
    Russell

    Hello Russell, welcome aboard.

Undo the oil filler cap and lift off the plastic engine cover. The oil filter housing is at the back centre. Its black and had a built in nut (22mm I think) at the top.

I've got the oil change instructions here somewhere. I'll fish them out for you.

Note that the oil drain plug needs to be replaced every change.

    Welcome to Permagrin

    Why?

I think the rubber seal is available as a separate part.

The workshop manual on the GTR says to. Don't ask me why. With dealers looking for a warranty out any way they can, I didin't take the chance.

    Can't argue with that .

I won't mention that possibly we don't change it every time.

    Ooops!

Just checked the manual on GTR and now it just says replace the seal.

Oh well, at least I've got a collection of drain plugs for emergencies.
