What anti-virus program do you have installed?

It sounds like it may be stopping pop-ups.

When you click the button and it just flickers, is there a message at the top of the screen in pale yellow? (well - it does it in pale yellow on mine, and I use Nortons).

None of my emails from eBay (bid confirmation, "you've won", etc) have attachments - just a multipart email with plain-text and HTML parts.

It could be your email client doesn't know how to handle the email, or attached file.

Does the "open / save" pop-up give you the file's filename?

Is your email set to show html emails or only plain text? Html emails look like web pages, have links, etc.

All of the emails I've ever received from ebay have been html, so that might be your problem.

    Cheers

haven;t got a clue what any of it means,
but for me, a few months ago i did a systems check, you know the thingy about deleting unwanted programs and cookies etc,
well the ebay thingy did something similar to yours wouldn't load or search, There is a post somewhere about it.
Basically i had to get all the ebay cookies back on my system and it all worked again,

does that make sense, did it start happening after a computor cleanup.

really need a bit more fact than what you are suppling...

okay, number 1 is , what email program are you using or are you using their webmail interface to read the mail?

number 2 is do you actually have an anti virus /security package on your computer or do you rely on dodo's server filtering?

number 3 is can you forward one of the emails you can't read, to me, dave@davecandoit.com so i can see how the message is constructed..

    cheers
