    Madigan's Line

Who has done Madigan's Line the whole way between Old Andado and Hay River Tk?

If you have, what do you think about doing it in a East-West direction?

Um - not for forty years, so I could not really comment on current conditions - I did it then in a 2a diesel with no special equipment and no problems.

Did the Madigans from Batten Hill right down the Hay River track last year. Going back to do the whole thing from Andando next year.

Track good up ther top but gets a bit lonely down the bottom end. While going along the dunes was a good run but 200+ dunes at the bottom to cross made for a few teeth rattling days.

The problem with doing the whole Madigan's is the aboriginal land permits. Some sections are a no go. We are currently investigating and trying to get the OK for next year at present.

Well worth the trip, some spectacular country but you need to be well equipped and have a contingency plan. One of our party did a clutch and had to get towed out by one of the other guys all the way back to Alice via The Plenty Hwy.

I am just trying to work that out Chez? We did Hay River last year but from Batten Hill down Hay River is not the Madigan Line, you just go through a couple of his camps.

We have all the permits organised just working on the route.
