    buying advice

ok, from searching the forum i have garnered some info however just want some additional advice/confirmation.
looking to buy a disco 2 td5 around the 01/02 vintage, couple of questions
    1. based on these year model how many k's would you expect for $20k'ish purchase?
    2. cdl, is it only the 02 models that were missing the internals from the t/case or others. assuming only this model would 00/01 models have internals and therefore be able to just add the linkages to function?.
    3. can you retrofit the third row seating to the five seater?.
many thanks all and see you on the trails
    cheers

    1. Average on any car is 25K a year.

    2. Late 01's may not have any internals in the TC then no CDL and 02's, had no internals in the TC. My build date 06/01 had CDL in the TC. Therefore the only way to really tell is feel up on top of the TC for a nut this is where the linkage is attached to engage CDL.

    3. Not sure.

RE making it a 7 seater - I'd ask your local transport authority as I think they will need to be certified by an engineer, even thou they came as standard on the SE7 model. Added to that - the rear seats do occationally turn up second hand but they are often asking $700 and upwards.

    advice

ok, think i have found one and drives nice.
    http://www.drive.com.au/used/search/...spx?id=3837378
full service history and all receipts with the documents.
with such a good service history and seeing as the car was only serviced at 115K would you still think I should arrange a pre-inspection. most services at centenial auto repairs in redfern and seems to be a city car only, one service at Graeme Cooper around the 80k i think.
    appreciate your thoughts.
