One of the major F1 race teams switched from K&N to fibrous filters after both their engines were destroyed during one race in bahrain!!!

caveat - I work for this company in another country... that said I can tell you it is more use when using the same oil with regular samples over time as then you get a trend...

i use the stock defender donaldson type filter with a snorkel with donaldson pre cleaner on top and after most trips away this time of year i get around a 1/2 to a cup of dust out of the pre cleaner from a days drive. money well spent

seems the evidence is clear, F*** me side ways. Might have to start looking at something else.....

Been using ALS for testing but get a bloke in the US to interpret results.

K&N are guaranteed for 1 million miles for a reason, I run one in my Disco & have had no problems.

Take your K&N filter out and hold it up to the sun, those holes you can see are the size of the dust particles that will get through to your motor, good luck, Regards Frank.
