    interested in doing tyrechanging/wheel bearings?

couple the facts that the big green trailer s due for new rubber and bearings and the wifes car is due for new rear rubber and Im a cheapskate I'm going to change them all myself to save the $$$.

Im also lazy why should I do it all if someone else will do it for me.....

If anyone is interested in learning how use tyrepliers to work rubber on both split rims and tubeless car tyres or how to replace bearings on an axle (although its the trailer the same theory aplies to landrovers) now is the time to express interest so that I can get the logistics of this organised.

Im aiming to be doing it in about 4-5 weeks time and I'll lay on a BBQ and some of the booze I keep getting in trade for minor jobs.

Dave, I would be interested if it was before Christmas. I am going away after that.

I agree. Even with a pair of TyrePliers and a big mallet I couldn't get my tyre off its rim. Ended up down at the local servo and got their machine onto it.

There has to be a trick - but I definitely don't know it

    revist

    Ok Im lining this up....

tomorrow afternoon will see me into the workshops for a short visit and to check on a wheel bearing thats not playing the game on my trailer. Once I expose the little usurper there I shall interrogate it for its name and serial number and then launch an assult on a suspected strong hold of his buddies and then expunge them from that location and put the lazy buggers to work doing my bidding, namely keeping my wheels on straight.

I can do this next weekend (23/24 feb) or the weekend after (29feb/01mar)

Ive had to repair the wifes tyre already but have a selection of dead rubber that can be used to put onto some junk rims and if anyone is interested in doing their own rubber Im cool with that and can offer free balancing of them providing you can leave them with me as I wont get a slobbering horde of LR nuts with half their hair missing that reek of lube, ether and rubber past the gates.

    This has become urgent.

Due to the failure of the suspect bearing and the fact that Ive been dobbed in for some work on sunday that requires the trailer Im now doing this thing on saturday.

Ill be tackling the bearings this saturday afternoonish (lunch time so if its wanted Ill start a bit earlier and kick it off with a BBQ + some very quiet beers) If someone wants to do rubber I have one tyre that needs changing back over so that can be done as well and if needed we can play with other rubber or you can bring your own.
