Well I'd be thinking flattered. Would have been nice/polite if he had a quick thanks at the end.
This was going to start out as a rant, but I have calmed down, but now don't know what to think or feel.So it is now in Geneal Chat.
I uploaded a video that I had shot and edited to Youtube a couple of months back, and posted a link here on AULRO.
I noticed on the weekend that someone with the user name disco4X4au has taken my video and re-edited it and submitted 5 short lengths from it.
I feel that if someone wanted to do that it would be polite to ask if they could. I would 99% of the time say ok. If it was of their vehicle I would say no problem.
So what do the masses of the forum think?
Should I complain (not normally in my nature though) ?
As Youtube is a public forum is this expected. and I should just shut up and be flattered?
Is it ok but would have been nice if credit is given?
Below is the complete video I originally uploaded

I think once you publish anything on the web you can kiss goodbye to any ownership.

A similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago were some of my Youtube vid ended up linked on another 4WD forum with no reference to who took the video.
Impolite not to give a credit but as DeeJay said, once its on Youtube its public property.
People post links to video on youtube all the time on here as well as other forums, and I don't recall once seeing anyone post a credit to the original editor.
Doesn't make it right I know, but it happens everywhere.
Egads, yes, 'twas I
Humblest apologies for not putting an acknowledgement on it - I'm sure I did with the others, but this must have been the "last thing at night" one!
I shall rectify asap!
Cheers,
Gordon
