Waving, when not in a Landie?

How do you wave to a Defender driver, when not in a Landie yourself?

I drive a Corrolla but like to wave at Defenders & 'real' looking Disco's.
I gave TUSKER a thumbs up today & was acknowledge (thanks), but usually I'm ignored.

What do other ppl do when you're walking or driving something other than a green oval?

I have the same problem, LR people don't wave back when I'm in the gutlux, you just get an odd look

and the bikers don't nod back when I'm in either car.

Err Arrggh - I don't know - none of my Land Rover products have green ovals!

Both my Rangies are pre-green oval re-introduction and my series vehicles all had black ovals - except for the RAC-Q one that had a beige oval.

    Wot am I 2 do?

Addit: There are a few crumbly doors etc owned by LROCS people that have the round "Land Rover Owners Club of Australia" sticker in the window - this or one of the green oval itself may help. Expect to get snide remarks from ToyoMitissan drivers however.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I had the same trouble when i was driving a holden rodeo around while my landy was off the road, have to say i got some very strange looks i was actually thinking of putting a Land Rover sticker on the bottom of the right hand corner of the windscreen to help ease the confusion to the landys i waved at
One strange thing i noticed is i saw a lot more landys on the road when i was driving another vehicle, now back in the landy and have only seen one fender and no series landys for the whole week week

    International Sign

I reckon we need an internationally recognised sign.

Hand out the window with finger & thumb in the shape of an 'L'? - might be misunderstood!

Arm out window & hand palm down on roof perhaps? - similar to 'OK' hand on head when scuba diving.

I'll try this for a while. Sydney 'Fender drivers keep an eye out.

You mean like a Finger or something?

Hand out the window with finger & thumb in the shape of an 'L'? - might be misunderstood!

And a muddie tread over your bonnet

There is a simple solution to your dilemma, buy a series.

Step 1 = Teach my wife to drive a manual.

Not sure she'd enjoy starting on a series. Hoping for a 07Def' in 2010, will try then.

    Step 2 convert to automatic

Step 3 Watch the blokes swoon around a woman driving a Series

    haha, an international sign hey.

What I am surprised at is the number of 'fender owners who don't wave at all. I feel put out when I wave and they look back as if to say "what's wrong with you". It should be in the vehicle user guide or next to the tyre pressure sticker. I always see a yellow 90 driving around Katoomba with a lady in the pilots seat and I have waved 4 times yet she has not cottoned on yet but I shan't give up.

My solution is just to wave lots, excitedly, and then some. A big grin, too.

But for some reason, it hasn't worked yet.

Maybe I might have to imitate bowing down!
