Mine was just a few weeks ago, well the most recent one anyway!
Plan was for a quiet camping weekend with another couple and their kids. No real off roading etc, just some relaxing and fishing.....
Well we (in our D2 with camper trailer attached) took a short cut which led us down some pretty nasty rock steps (before anyone asks, there was nowhere to turn around), which the car and trailer navigated beautifully. Across a small creek at the bottom then I looked up....... Holy****! It was worse than the steps down.
Now remember, this was to be a quiet w/e with no off roading so there I was with my road tyres, a trailer and......get this..... a winch with NO CABLE! I had taken it off to replace the eyelet to the drum and hadn't been able to get one in time...but I wasn't going to need it....right?
Found a guy fishing and he had an 80 cruiser and was happy to try.... hooked up and he pulled..... and pulled...and yep...the winch extension cable snapped. Upon doing so it smacked into the rear door of his truck (GRRRR about $700). Backed back down and 'parked' the trailer in the creek so I could unhitch it, had a go at getting out by myself...no go. Turned around to try the other way....no go. My erstwhile friend then drove me to my mates camp. He came back, got my car up (the way we had come), then went back in to get the trailer......he got half way out, I hooked up to him and WOOHOO....out we all came!
This little story took about 3 hours in real time and the only harm done was the fishermans door.....Oh well

Anyway, we got to our campsite and down came the rain!!!

Was a truly memorable little trip with no off roading .

it all happened before my disco and before my 2 child had finally saved enough to buy my new susp for my gu (3"lifted konis and kings) along w a brand spankin new set of bfg at's i was in heven and felt like a king!
a few of us decided to take a trip to landcruser mountain for a few days playing.
first morn; got up and packed and did a check over the truck, found the water a little low, checked it out !"hole in hose"
a little delay called mate he came over we replaced it so all good
got on the go gotto "landy park"hehehehehe,
all went well having a brill time, got through the few days without anymore drama. we were camped over the creek from the main camp area and had to cross it to get the girls over to powder their noses, we had crossed this creek more than a doz times over the weekend, one one side of the creek there was few deep rutt's to avoid up the bank, when u got over u had to ver to the right to avoid a stump on left and we did this all weekend yhea????
well after a good few days playing, we packup shipped out, over night the rain was pritty heavy and the creek had plenty of water more so than the previous few days, there were five of us in the group and we all left together i was forth in the convoy so when i had got to the creek, which buy now was plenty wet up the bank
i tookoff up the bank avoiding the beforsaid rutt's as i got up to the stump i slipped into on one of the rutt's a liitle and tried to correct it, as a result i collected the stump w my bullbar.
with that the stump came clean out of the ground and a bloody big root came with it, unfortunatly for me the root was laying clean under the right handside of the truck and came up with such force that it speared my brand new bfg clean through, then the other end forced its way through my side steep bending it lik a canopener does the side of a can and then up into my gard putting a huge split in it like someone had hit with an axe.

so all and all it was a good weekend "NOT"

    cheers
