I drove beside a H3 on the weekend. All black and shiny with what looked about 24" polished wheels .... complete with rubber bands .... looked bloody ridiculous ....

Whilst the Hummer has a chance I believe the poor quality and likely lack of durability in the H3 will kill it. It's decidedly low-tech and has pointless detailing that exists only to reinforce the H1-like image. Besides, it is still $60K on road before getting the necessary suspension, lockers and underbody protection. The outward visibility for offroading is ridiculous too. It's a pumped up plastic sports-shoe 4WD in my opinion.

Is it worth starting a poll - or are we all too biased here for it to be worthwhile?

Us, bias? that's just ridiculous.

i read on another forum that the LC200 after being loaded with it's seven passengers actually has load capacity that a suzuki jimny. a little impractical for outback touring.
the jeep wrangler has had anti stall for a few years now, so it's not really an innovation on L.R's part.
the wrangler with twin lockers may just take the cake. i'd be surprised if the defender gets it, as much as i'd like to see it.
if advertising dollars come into it, then i think Land Rover will be in with a chance, they have an ad on the back of 4x4 australia and overlander every month. all 3 of the australian mags have staffers that drive land rovers. i think there's 4 in 4x4, 3 or 4 in 4wd action and 2 0r 3 in overlander so we don't have the negativity of previous years

I agree as well


After all, a paid actor with a blokey persona wearing an Akubra told me this at this years Sydney motorshow. He also informed us all that the Cruiser is a part of Australian history being that it was an integral part of the snowy mountain scheme.

So why are we all heading to Cooma then and not the closest Toyota dealer?

Yes, I know anti-stall has been around a while, but the new Defender's is something else!

But a Jeep as 4WDOTY? C'mon

anti-stall is anti-stall, all it does is squirt more juice in to keep the engine going under extreme load at low revs via computer.
