    Lightbulb Camping & Track 'buddies' in Qld Sought (ANYTIME AFTER X-mas to 5th of Jan)?

    Guys / Ladies,

    The missus, a mate from "the flat lands" & I will be heading up to the Sunshine coast / Bundy area in Qld for X-mas and was wondering if there are any other like minded souls who are from the area or going up as well who want to do a day / days driving & camping with us? (Sunshine to Goldcoast area would also be considered - have to run it by the ministry of recreation, entertainment, travel & finance first, of course! )

    We are new to Australia and are eager to see this beautiful country and really aren't fussed which way the tracks lead, or where the camp-sites are.

    The only brake on the severity of the tracks is the STANDARD tyres (piggy bank well is dry after the recent engine repairs) under the Disco and perhaps my ability, having learnt to drive on sand and dry (shingle) riverbeds and not done a great deal of rock crawling / knarly tracks like I have seen here or been out on with mates.

    Unfrtounately we know this, but we have little choice due to the money supplier (aka work boss) deciding that we HAVE to take 2 weeks off during X-mas......

    What do you do, if it gets to bad, we will either head for the hills, or jump onto an island and spend the 2 weeks diving our brains out.... not bad way to spend the time either

    I should be out n about on some trax just north of GC & just Sth of Brisvegas with a couple of other forum guys round about that time frame.

    Shoot me a pm once you get a better idea on dates a bit closer & I'll fill you in on any plans we have. We could well all hook up with Dranged if he's proposing a day trip.
