Thread: Off topic help needed urgently

Hi all,

Totally off topic but does anybody here have an old Primus Regulating burner lying around, like the one here in the picture:



A plain regulating burner that was fitted to millions of Primus, Optimus, Handi, Maxie, and Aladdin kerosene stoves.

Basically I'm under pressure (excuse the pun) to have one by the 16th of the month, I'm happy to buy, pay postage etc or simply loan for 2 weeks if you don't wish to part with one. I'm taking a group down to Gippsland and the burner is currently being repaired, and won't be ready in time.

theres gotta be one sitting around somewhere.......
maybe even give the shop in the ad a call and see if they sell any of the regulating ones......


does this stove serve a special purpose that you cant use a gas one......?
just for this trip at least to get you out of trouble.....till yours is fixed or a replacement is found.....?


im just tossing ideas around......may come up with a solution.....

Good idea, I'll hit the junk shops tomorrow.

Unfortunately it does combined kitchen stove / hot water heating (all built in type thing) so I'm hoping to find one to simply screw in until the other one returns rebuilt.

(PS Place belonged to grandparents, so yes it's as primitive as hell)
