This is where algebra comes in: chose a two-digit number equates to (10 x a) + b. Then substract the sum of the digits. This results in ((10 x a) +b)) - (a+b) which simplifies to (10 x a - a) + (b-b) or 9 x a. Provided the symbol repeats every 9 places, the same symbol will come up no matter what number you chose. The trick is, they change the symbol on the multiple of 9. Whatever the order, the same symbol is on 9,18, 27, etc.

its always multiples of 9, check the symbol at the start for number 9 and guarantee that will be the same as shows up no matter what your starting number is. all they do is randomise what the symbol for number 9 is each time you restart. check 9,18,27,36 etc, all show the same identical symbol within each game, but that symbol changes each time, but they all stay consistant. so the easy way is to just bypass all the gaff about choosing numbers etc, restart and go straight to the chart and look at the symbol for number 9.

There is obviously some mathematical/scientific/logical explanation.

I know there are only so many symbols repeated, but wow
    Oh dear!
    Instant head ache...
