    Cheap airfares.

Melbourne/Darwin return, 4 people, total cost including taxes etc $200. I Got these a couple of weeks back on the Tiger Airways site. I must say, I was very pleased to get them at that price. That also includes the prepaid seat option

It's hard to get on these deals.
I get email notification of sale fares by registering. But by the time I receive the email it is always too late to get a decent flight.
My sister has a friend who works for one of the discount airlines and when the airline advertises 50,000 seats at X$, most of those seats are already gone as Staff and their families and friends have had the jump on the public.
I did get a good deal once with Virgin to Brisbane years ago , Tassie once and NZ, but they are hard to get. Often you only save on 1/2 the fare, you might get a return flight at the special price but going out normal price or vice versa. hard to get a return flight for next to nicks.
But you did well to get the Darwin flight so cheap.

I agree, so hard to get these deals. Pure luck that we landed (Pun intended) on these. It was a one day offer with flights available until next October. We picked the end of August for 8 days. Should be able to hire a car, get accomm etc for less than just fuel cost if we drove

After thousands of hours spent in the air I generally like to have a good landing, Has been my experience that a bad landing can stuff up ya entire day.

Lots of people had prebooked Tiger Airways flights out of Alice Springs for this holiday season. Tiger were supposed to commence operations at the start of December.

It is a pity they didn't do their homework and have all of their ground support systems in place prior to then. IE aircraft turnaround crew, etc.

Now the Tiger flights have been cancelled until further notice and peoples holiday plans have been thrown into turmoil.

I, for one, will stick with Qantas for any of my air travel needs. They are the only carrier who has stuck by the needs of Centralians while all others have failed.
