Winter arrived here at about 9.30 this morning as well.
Not going out in the rain to check the gauge.

Typical, October the SA Ag Dept down graded the harvest, because we had no damned rain at all over winter. We got nothing at all for 8 weeks up till September. Then the driest, hottest spring, in 25 years.
Now, right in the middle of harvesting what there is. Tropical rain.

Big hail in Sydney, walls of water in Melbourne. Bewdy Huey.

Just been looking at the various radars - seems like theres a fair bit of rain to the west, wonder if it will make it over the hill.

    Probably.

This shot was taken just about half an hour ago, at about 8.30 PM, looking SW from Tailem Bend.

Don't it look dark out there. The 2 white spots are a cows eyes in the flash. Yet it was still daylight to my eyes.

We have had 30mm this week over 3 or 4 days,it was pretty cold for most of the week, today would be the first day over 25deg!!!.
The sod busters are not happy!!!! Record crops, record grain prices, the CBH bin is chokas and it rains just as everything dries out again.
