We had 8 call outs last night due to rain damage (7 eleven, bunnings, mobil, all electrical stuff). Had a switchboard blow up in my face today at St Helena Secondary College that had somehow shorted the busbar with water damage, popped 3x 125A HRC fuses, made one hell of a noise. After blowing it up, i packed up my gear and went and enjoyed a work break up at the office, board can wait till next year.

Has not stopped raining in the mountains for more then 24 hours over the past 3 weeks. I think we have had 3-4 dry days and either drizzle or solid rain on the others. Over past couple of months have had to empty my 2 inch gauge at least 8 times (probably more).

You need to get a bigger gauge - get a 12" one never had to empty that more than once a day . Came close once though 270mm overnight.

Bugger all rain here though so far (3mm). However this is now our wettest year since 1991 and about 700mm more than last year.

We are on the edge of the Mallee, 22mm and rising since early Friday morning.

It would be great if it weren't in the middle of harvest.

These 2 photo's were taken at 10.30 this morning (Sat) between showers, feed my little herd, looking in the same direction as last night's dark shot (south) and over towards Adelaide to the west of me. More coming in.

It was a pitch black sky yesterday.

At least the tanks are filling, and, I don't have much to do farm wise.
The rain washed the last of the crop down the hill last night.
So it's hand feed for the next few months again. Just as well I like cows.

On the far left, feeding her face.
Next to her is Jesse, our new little bull calf.
About 4 months old now, little horns buds beginning to show.
His dad was Duncan, a great big shaggy orange Scottish Highlander. With a really good set of horns almost 7 feet across.
Looking forward to watching Jesse grow up. He's going to be a big boy.

    Rain

You want to break the drought?? Just let me start a renovation., or hire an excavator. This is my back yard, and future extension.

Note: My kitchen is in the garage, so we have to cross the mud pit to get to it. Welcome to summer in Melbourne.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Ken
