Well I'm at work on the Island until 2nd Jan, so the Numpty's Xmas is to be had on the 4th or 5th depending on what the young ones are doing.

Tis the first time in 27 years that the missus and I wont see each other on Xmas day

I have not ever had all of the "festive season" off with my kids. Ever. Damn shiftwork.

This is the first year off shift type work for me and I'm loving it. Get all public holidays off and am just on call till the 7th. Two small regular jobs to do till then that will take 2 hours to complete and I will get paid for 4 hours.

I am normally away with my mate who has that 12v generator, but unfortunately he is already away at Denmark, so I can't borrow it. I also haven't got around to getting a solar panel yet.

Already started packing the Disco as I head off Monday.
Not a problem re your fridge as I'm taking my 1000w Honda generator

Everyday for us is a holiday, no matter where we are.
We dont have a frig in the back of the Disco, but we do carry a large esky.
What I have, is three 2ltr plastic milk cartons filled with water that live full time in our large top opening freezer.
If we are going shopping or travelling, these cartons will remain frozen for
a couple of days and last well in the old esky.
Then back into the freezer untill next time. No fuss, no mess !

If we are travelling without the van, we stay at motels. Most motels sell ice, so I put our three milk cartons in their freezer overnight.

Up here, even in winter, the aircon is on medium in the Disco.
When shopping, the esky is loaded with the perishables for the trip home
and aircon up to high to cool groceries, winter and summer.
The plastic milk cartons must be at least five year old now ?
Ave an appy an safe Chrissy.
    Cheers.

    Merry XMas all!
    Please,
    Don't feel sorry for them!
It's a risk they take living there
Like living in the tropics and complaining about cyclones, or living in WA and whinging that you cant watch the sun come up over the ocean.
All self inflicted and self remedied I'm afraid.

Ralph - Hope it's nice for Christmas
