    NT does it again

Couldn't find the NT Gov report but here's the ABC news headline from the other day.

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...24/2127035.htm

A can of (heavy) beer contains 5% pure alcohol or 0.01875 litres so 3,200,000 litres of pure alcohol is equivalent to approximately 170,700,000 cans of beer shared between 200,000 Territorians.

    Cheers

That's why they reduced the speed limit this year. It's not drunk drivers it's speed that's the killer on the roads.

170,700,000 cans of beer shared between 200,000 Territorians.
    i.e., 170,700 cans per 200 people
    or 1707 cas per 100 = 853 cans each.

Ahh, that's less than 3 cans per day for each man, woman, and child)

That explains why the road toll for the NT was worse this year than before the new road laws

I wonder if this data takes into account the increase in consumption of home brew alcohol. I get the impression it doesn't.
