    But I'm not put off.

    Anyone that would treat a RRS as suggested above is making a very clear statement about their wealth and their capacity to waste money.

    BTW It took me hours to clean the scuff marks off my tyres

    Glad to hear you took it all in jest, the way it was meant. But it's not a question of wealth, more circumstance, I need a 4WD to get out of town, I was considering a RRS to replace my D2a (won't replace the Defender), but will probably go for a D3, though that TDV8 is so nice.
