Very true..which is why I only venture out with my LR cousins where (A) I can show off and (B.) they're there to tow me back .

Although (B.) has yet to happen, if it ever breaks down I have no dellusions about getting it going again.

PS: I think (hope) that the only real issue will be the electrics/computer, which is why "limp home" mode was invented I suppose.

    Never mind Toyotas etc.

WHat about the absolutely pointless Series v Defender v Disco v Rangie argument.

It's POINTLESS because we all know Defenders are the best !!!!!

(there's a thread on it somewhere).

    Cheers Vlad.

Well the thread was going well until those bluddy fender drivers chimed in . I should have pointed out, which many did anyway, that I wasn't referring to good humoured stirring, more the snideness that goes both ways. Though having said that, I do believe in the whole that LR drivers are definately more tolerant and respectful of other peoples choices. Ultimately, 4WDers are all brothers and sisters and the "enemy" isn't each other but those that choose to detract from our choice of vehicle and lifestyle ie greenies, government departments, ignorant idiots who believe our vehicles contribute to this, that and whatever.

As for you fender lot, come play with a D3 someday, then see what you have to say. Have had a few fender missus's jump ship into the D3 and exclaim how wonderful it was to be in the D3 ( though just the other day was pricing up a new Fender and what I might get for the D3) but then remembered I have another one due in April and the kids are really used to the 3 levels of aircon and plugging in ear phones so they can listen to cds whilst I listen to the radio, plus the 13 speakers, leather, controls on the steering wheel....most important and so on and so on....not saying my D3 is any better of course ,

    Regards

    Stevo

Oh no I agree with your sentiments - we need to unte if we are going to be a force.

Here's the thing with the Defender thing.

I have seen a D3 in action and riden in one.

    D3 I want: $80,000

Cost to upgrade to Defender I can afford: (about) $10,000.

Owning ANY Land Rover: Priceless !

    You see ?!

Hmmm, I've always admired 4wds in all shapes and sizes. I'm here because I love my Landrover...but I dont only love Landrovers. I'm often known to comment, about any 4wd, or even vehicle I appreciate; "I'd have that, if they gave it to me!" No one has ever donated one to me though! *sigh*. I also believe, that you get attached to everything you drive. I love my little Diahatsu Rocky. I could list a hundred things about it that make it a poor 4wd, I could list a hundred things that make is a great 4wd...but at the end of the day, it's mine, I love it, no matter how lame/silly/pathetic anyone else thinks it is.

I used to own a tojo fj45 with a full fibreglass cab and all the rest of it and found it to be a great 4WD and would own another in a heart beat . It also towed a lot of landy's out of sticky spot's too and the other way around . But in saying that I love my landy to bits ( cos it's in bits ) and can't wait to put it through it's paces in the bush . Who cares what you own . Just get out the bush and get dirty
