LPG prices.... over 80 cpl....whats the story ???

Drove from Sydney to Brisbane on Monday, highest LPG price along the way 82.9 cpl.

Fortunately its not that bad locally, but its still too high.

    What's going on ?

Even 6 months ago when I bought my Rangie the LPG price was in the low fifties.

I didn't think LPG was quite so affected by crude oil prices or the US Dollar.

just a few months ago in my area the LPG prices were high fifties, low sixties,
Why would the LPG cost rise so dramatically? its not like its a fossil fuel... i thought it was readily available,
Might have been just where u were, some small independant servos have to charge
    more to get a profit.

they will tell you the price is due to the export boom to China and India for LPG supplies

the truth is if your selling petrol for 1.40 why wouldn't you jack the price of lpg up to suck the money out of the market and make profits

capitalism a wonderful way to run a country

It now costs me nearly $70 to fill with LPG when I got the car about a year ago it was $50 !

    over 35% increase in a year !

Not too sure .... I'll get my mate Chen Yeung to go fill up for me next time. I think they will still charge him the full price.

Inc I know off the West Coast they were selling gas to the Chinese at 2 cents per litre.
Lucky guys fancy being able to get it that cheap
I usually pay $1 to $1.20 for LPG
I think it sucks I did make some inquiries and was told that the LPG price is set in Saudi Arabia and the Northern Hemisphere winter was the cause of the price increase

Deisel has done pretty much the same... when we drifted into the country about 15 months ago.. it was around the 115c/l mark.. now its up at 150c/l large increase in less than a year (stayed a steady price for a few months..)

amazing how the price of petrol fluctuates on the weekly cycle (not price fixing honest) but deisel only ever seems to go up... they are both made of oil yes?

    Thanks

It is called GREED and they will get away with it.
Since the new government took over fuel companies, banks and anyone else on the gravy run are having a ball.

Can Rudd and Swan stop them...
