Hard to say but a calm discussion with you immediate boss and company owner / ceo is required to find out on what grounds.
Are you on award or AWA??
You could go out on your own and take a chaunk of their clientel with you.

What you describe doesn't seem to sit with unfair dismissal legislation. But the previous government did put some loop holes in.

Did you get a letter of termination?

I think they could state that operational needs for the business force the termination and you can't fight that under the liberal laws. But if they are sighting performance issues, then I think the old three strikes rules apply. they need to give you formal warnings.

Are you in a union? If so, ask their advice.

Either way, you won't want to work there again, so start looking for something else straight away. Don't let this get you down. There is HEAPS of work out there for people who want it.

Maybe it is a good time to persue a career change if you've been wanting that.

im a mechanic at a well known ford dealer in canberra. i was prety much fired on the spot today by my service mangler and my forman plus one witnes. im not a member of a union. and there is no shortage of work here tomomrow i pick up my box in the defer and head to holden or toyota or whover will give me a start. what i want to know is where i stand as i do like working where i am/was not that i realy would give them the steam off my **** after today seing i got the chop 20 mins to knock off so they still got the best days work out of me . as far as im aware i get my holidays payed and 2 weeks ? is that the case or not? ile be ringing round tomomrow ect to find out for sure. however a bloke i worked with 2 years ago left with nothing haveing been fisted with grose miss conduct all for serviceing his sisters car on a weekend.

Even misconduct they have to pay you any owing entitlements, but may be able to deduct costs for misappropriation.
I would still be asking for a proper explanation.
