    Crash Testing a Disco

    Hi All...

Well no-one ever wants to have their family crash test a vehicle but today at around 0900 my wife and kids were involved in a rollover at around 80km/h, in our 2003 Disco TD5. (Anyone in Mackay would have seen the footage in the 6 o'clock news)

I am really happy to say everyone escaped without a scratch, capsules and carseats undoubtably saved the kids, and the inherant strength of the Discovery meant that despite the vehicle being a total write-off, there was minimal intrusion and all doors were able to be opened and closed after the accident.....

I am an ambulance paramedic and was actually dispatched to the case, but another case came in and thankfully I did not have to attend to my family in this instance!!!
I have long been a confirmed believer in the strength of cargo-barriers and child seats, and the proof is in the seeing!!!

I will try to post photos in the near future but if you see an 2003 Oslo Blue TD5 Disco (as per my signature) at the salvage auctions in the near future it has a perfect service record and prior to the accident was in great nick but after sitting upside down for an hour it might not be so flash!!!!

PS Anyone selling a 2003/04 TD5 Disco???? I am now in the market!

    Cheers,

    Johnsy

Sorry to hear about the Disco Johnsy - but great to hear that everyone OK and uninjured after the accident. Confirms our faith in the Disco's.

Saw it on the news Johnsy and can say everyone is very lucky to be unharmed. Looked like it was a nice truck.

    Glad everyone is safe.
