So if one was to rock up to an Iveco truck dealer sometime later this year, they would have Massifs in stock? Or would they be sold through someone else? Or are we unlikely to see them?

I think you are all worrying about nothing.Tata are not going to buy LR to wreck the company. They will spend the money needed to keep it going and expand. It will garantee the defender will keep going as they will outfit their very very large army with them.No doubt they will make them in india for the asian market. Pat
I dunno why everyone is so hung up on Pommy production, too.
Defenders have been, or are assembled in South Africa (and quite a few have found there way here over the last few years), Brazil, Turkey and not forgetting Oz production for quite a few years, too.
No matter where they've come from, build quality has been varying degrees of crap, so the Indians could probably do no worse, and companies like Tata and Mahindra are starting to lift their games.
Tata is a bloody huge industrial conglomerate, and I think they recently bought one of the Korean truck manufacturers (Hyundai trucks ?)
Why put the knockers on a product that continues to sell? I had a look at the Santana if they were to axe the Fender surely a Santana would fill the bill, look like a reworked S3, sorry I dont know much about the later machine these days
