    Thumbs up nice D3 story

    From another landy group.......

Heard a very good/funny story yesterday. Some people up in Cairns went out on a 4WD trip. They all had stock vehicles and there was a Landcruiser,a Patrol and a couple of other vehicles.Apparently the track was very wet and very chopped up and the group spent almost the entire first day winching. The funny part is that about halfway through the day they met a vehicle coming the other way.It was a couple on their own in a D3...towing a trailer. They had not had any problems at all and the group was amazed they had done the trip on their own with a trailer and made it.

Just goes to show what the D3 can do......

I'll call bluff on that one.

I dont beleive the D3 is THAT awesome.

If it was mad tricked out, lcokers, muds, lift etc. then it adds credibility, but otherwise we have to be realistic.

I have NO DOUBT a stock D3 even with a trailer will out-perform a stock patrolcruiser.

Maybe it was a D3 with a trailer that had chopped the track up.

    Out-perfom sure, no problem.

But, as described, spending all day winching eachother, compared to NO PROBLEMS at all WITH a trailer, is a bit far fetch IMHO.

??? My D3 came with two 'lockers' from the factory, it also came with a 'lift' at the push of a lever. When I go bush it's fitted with STT's.

Who said the D3 is question didn't have mud tyres??

Mud & Ruts? Just dial it up.
Suspension lifted, engine & transmission responses altered to the requirements and diffs locked. All at the turn of a dial.

the D3 in its socks weighs 2.8t but is an exceptionally capable vehicle as I found on a punch hunt recently in a black muddy forest
