Yesterday was the first day this week without an afternoon storm - 75mm, more rain than for the whole of February for the last five years. Was able to cross the creek yesterday morning with only about half a metre of water, but the river is up and I had to use the rather dubious bridge (approaches washed out), and with heavy rain at Dunedoo, it will be well up in a couple of days. By the afternoon, when picking up the kids, the creek only had a trickle in it.

Just got a call from my next door neighbour - he's walking back to the house and found a place where his phone works. He wants me to come over after I pick the kids up and drive either his bulldozer or his Hilux while it is pulled out of the mud - reckons I won't get anywhere near it in anything with wheels.
