mate thats going to be brill !! l hop they get it to zoom down to the altitude you can when you subscribe to google earth! it will be much better then
cheers
Maybe a good idea. I just hope it doesn't result in over use (and abuse) of those tracks, especially the ones within easy reach of the populace which then often leads to closure of those tracks. I have seen this occur to numerous tracks especially after 'track notes' appear in one of the 4x4 magazines.
I tend to think that passing on track information to friends and people you can trust to 'do the right thing' in the bush is a better way to go rather that publically broadcast them.
There are already sites (eg ExploreOz) and books (Boiling Billy etc)available with track details for those who are unable to discover their own.
Just my thoughts on the topic.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the compliments. This thread is a little old, and so we have a fair few more tracks that have been uploaded.
4x4earth is aimed at providing up to date information about track conditions. We have a track logging feature so that after completing a track you can log what the conditions where like, therefore helping everyone out with what the current state of a track is. There is a weather system that details how much rain an area has had in the last 7 days. A little bit of help if you are looking for some mud
We have also just put in place the ability to download GPS files.
Thanks again and I hope to see you out there soon.
James
