    NM look see here!

Born early saturday morning was little "Ozzy".
Mother and son doing fine. (Dad's in the freezer, tastes great).

Photo's taken about 7.00 AM this morning (Sunday), during feeding.

One left now, to drop her first ever calf.
And that's it for this season. At last.

    We're not sure either mate.
We thought dad was "Black Jack" an all black as soot Angus.

Maybe "Duncan", the on rent Rastafarian Scottish Highland Longhorn, wasn't such a dud after all.
But, his first boy, "Jessie", is jet black, and shaggy with little horn buds now showing.
That's odd for a black cow and an orange bull.
Yeah, orange best describes Duncan's shaggy coat.
Duncan's other outstanding feature is a set of horns almost 7 feet wide.

But this is the second coloured calf this supposedly Angus cow has thrown in a row. Yes, that is Mum. Miss Black, by name.
The caramel coloured calf, in the earlier photo's is her first born, "Doris".
Now in calf for the first time herself, the last one to drop, and pretty soon now.
She's taller laying down, than standing up at the moment.

No, I don't have a say in naming them, I only rent a place to live on the farm is all.
Mostly it's the landlord's grand daughter.

    Pretty popular breed here.
Just across the river valley (Murray) is the Angus River valley, and the Scottish founded town of Strathalbyn.
It means pleasant valley or something similar.

Chock a block full of black cows.

A little further north is the German settlement of Lobethal.
    That means Valley of Praise.

The just north of Port Lincoln, is the township of North Shields, named after the town in Scotland that the town founders came from.
Even the pub, is an exact duplicate of the original "Wheatsheaf Hotel", still standing today in North Shields in Scotland.

( Stupid Windows spellchecker. It wanted me to check Strathalbyn.
It came up with breathalizer! as a choice of replacement.
And for Lobethal it suggested Nonlethal)

I think I've just found a brand new computer game.

See just what stupidity, Windows spell checker can come up with.
