Thumbs up Maxtrax Sand Trax Used In Anger

Had cause to use the Maxtrax sand trax/ladders in anger for the first time over the Aust Day long weekend. Had tyres down and bogged the Fender to the side steps in gritty soft sand at Fanny Cove. No panic, but as a mate in his Gutlux was positioning for a snatch, and there was no way in hell I wanted to be recovered by a Luxaflex, dove in the back, out with the maxtrax, used the shovel end to dig a bit out from the front tyres and a bit from the back, positioned and into LR, spat one out first attempt. Second attempt mate just held in position one hand, Fender just ticking over in reverse popped straight out and then floored it to get to safe ground. Good test of the product and I would recommend them. Mate standing by was also impressed.

Yep, he was. The Toymota brigade here call my Fender the slug, even though it flogs all of them and has not had to be recovered with assistance by them yet. Have snatched them on several occassions though.

    Terrific stuff Craig!!

Good to know they work. I've got a pair but haven't used them yet. I got them after doing pirouettes on the ravy mud in the rain.

Ive not had a chance to use mine yet on my car. But have used it on my lawn mower ( John Deere F1145 ) And they performed woefully lol.... It was never going to work, it was on a side slope.

What tyres were you running when you used them?

Cooper STTs. Not sure they were realy designed for use with a lawn mower.
