    Unhappy no more cat

Well near on 12 hours ago today the vet came around to euthanatise my cat.

****ing horrible - worst feeling, having your best mate of 14 years terminated in 3 seconds flat.

Didn't even struggle or make a sound. Loving animal right to the very end.

I know its "just a cat" but it feels like a person has died.

Sorry to hear that. A pet is often better then any human could be in my opinion so just like Bisho said "nothing is just an animal". Some of the most painful experiences in my life were the loss of pets.

    All the best,
    Xav

It's not like losing a family member..

they are family members. We have a cat that acts like a dog in many ways. He's also a complete bastard. But when he goes I'll probably shed a tear.

    Chin up mate !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Sorry to hear you news, Joel. Our 2 cats are our family, as fate has left us childless - even after IVF, so I feel your hurt.

Mine is 17 and looks like reaching 20.
Bought it for my daughter , but she goes and marries someone allergic to cats.
We went to Egypt in December and found a mighty mound of crap and worse ,**** in the corner of the garage, Something has made him start using a litter tray rather than going to a quiet place outside for the first time in 17 years, and now I am the dunny man every day.

Bloody useless thing has never caught an Indian Miner, now has only a few teeth, as well as no tail from being run over in his youth.
As a Black Oriental he scares the **** out of some people.

Sorry to hear mate, I lost my 9mth old shepherd over Xmas to a combo of a snake and tick bite and 8 mths before that my 8 yr old shepherd in a car accident. As most have said, they are family. We have 2 cats, we dont see eye to eye most of the time...especially the Bengal...I cant get near it, but my 4 yr old drags that thing all over the place, tucks up in bed with him etc. Pets, what ever they maybe, interweave with our families, so they are never just a cat or dog or (insert other choice).

    Regards

    Stevo
