I wear it on and off road. The off-road is because I figure an accident could be just as severe as an on road one if not more. I don't seem to have the issue of the tightening in the Defender though or have not noticed it anyway.

I was driving across a hillside at work when I dropped a wheel into a Wombat hole.
With no seatbelt on, I was propelled into the windscreen, shattering it and giving me a headache. My right hand took out the wiper stalk on the way through as well.
I was in low 1st idling at the time. Now, I appreciate seatbelts.

Second nature to me. Especially working on mine sites. There are very infrequent times off road when I do not put one on, but mainly only low speed recovery type stuff.
I like to set a good example for my kids and other kids.
Seeing kids without belts on realy makes my blood boil. Adults I do not care about as they can make their own choice, though I will still have a shot at them.

always wear them unless Im in an open top vehicle thats operating in difficult terrain.... if its going over I want to be able to duck down or runaway without the hassle of the belt...

been there once and seen it a few more times....

The only time I don't wear a belt is during deep river crossings, if I've gotta swim, i don't want to be fighting with a seat belt

    Ditto Jombo

it's about as automatic as getting dressed in the morning to go to work

Although having worked out finally that the disco really isnt a submarine no mater how much I modify it I only go through deep water if I have no other option.

What great indoctrination - good for safety reasons in any case.

To those who don't wear seat belts on all occasions,

I wonder what they would say if the emergency services people had the same actions. Sometimes we will attend road accidents sometimes we don't feel like it.

Or maybe the doctors and nurses in the trauma centre, sometimes we will worry about your spinal injury sometimes we wont, in any case it was your choice not to wear the seat belt that caused/amplifies the injury so you accepted the risk?

This is already happening with smokers, a significant number of heart surgeons will not operate on smokers FULL STOP.

It amazes me how many lets say ethnic minorities you see with car loads of kids climbing all over the seats and not one wearing a seatbelt or even a capsule or booster seat for the kids.
