I do not mate, the speed is dictated by the line.
I using Firefox and works normal, speed of the connection of the service provider.
Using Firefox my download speed was 34kb a sec, but using the "Down them All" add on its 500kb sec for the same link. Its a RAVE manual.
So how does the Down them All addon manage to get it 15times faster?

Down them All is a download manager.
What it, and other similar products do, is make identical requests for the same thing.
eg. Firefox makes 1 request, say MovieX, binary parts 0-99.
Down them All makes 10 requests of MovieX, parts 0-9; 10-19; 20-29 etc... which are all coming to your computer at the same time.
The program then stiches them back together and hey presto...
Its kinda like opening 10 browsers to download 1 file at 35kb/s each, combined it is 350kb/s
Hope you understood this jibberish!
well d3funct sounds better than my answer........I was going to say it's done with smoke mirrors and voodoo
