well all, i didn't bother to see the extra stuff as advised in the first post,
    but,
i am totally ****ed off at the lack of respect to the owners of other marques.
nothing to do with what happened on the vid. just the comments in this thread as to owners of other marques.
who made the owner of a land rover god?
if you do not agree with someone elses choice of vehicle/lawn mower/wife, keep it to yourself and do not abuse them for it.
i am sure most people that sh'can other makes, when put to the test would fail.
basically what i am trying to say is 'if you cannot be kind - be careful'

I couldnt understand why you responded to my comments until I read back and saw your comment, that didnt worry me as obviously tongue in cheek. Its not meant to be offence to Trav, as other people hold the same view, but to be honest I get sick of the whole " I drive a LR and everyone else is a knob" just like it ticks me off when I read " I drive a Toyota/Nissan and LRs are unreliable, crap, POS, etc etc. Its a constant in this forum about other makes and a constant in other mixed forums about LR's generally eminatting from people with no clue or substance to what they are saying aside from their own opinion. Also I did say there are probably people who wouldnt want to camp with the likes of me, hence the point of my thread in the first place. So maybe you can see why in this instance, that I not so much got upset, but just ticked off.

    Yeah,
All good Stevo. And I would go camping with you and most other forum members. Will have to read Trav's comments, did not see them and thought I was the only one to have a dig at Toyota. My whole last post was tongue in cheek and just stirring the pot.
We just have to remember we all have differing opinions, but can still be friends.
As I said before when put in text a lot of intent and sentiment is lost in the translation and we all need to remember this.
The whole issue is a club or group should never act this way and be considerate of other campers. Get them on side, over for a chat and soon you will have new club members. This incident would not be acceptable in most peoples books even if Carlin was slightly aggressive (and I am not saying she was). Good that they had the guts to say something. A lot would have just put up with it.
As for the video that was a dangerous snatch.

I'm sure there's decent Toyota and Nissans drivers and I too know a few, but may I add that I've had too many bad experiences with both in the past so I consider myself a bit anti-social and don't go out of my way to talk to them on the tracks. Just get on the Overlander forum if you want to see what they're like and there attitude towards us LR owners, 'nuff said.

Still at the end of the day, we don't need clubs acting like that, regardless of what they drive. I would have said the same about LR owners but it always seems to be Toyota owners acting like complete boofheads

CraigE I agree, opinions are like ********s and we all have one

I am opiniated and I will express them if people like it or not. The diplomatic approach just doesn't work for me

i followed the link on exploreoz to the club's website/forum and it seemed that some of the other club members were apalled. it was being refered to the committee to sort out, which to me would mean disciplinary action against those involved.
dreadful behaviour by a group of any kind let alone a 4wd club.

I was going to post that myself but thought "no way they didn't notice the 'archive' written all over the page"

Still a good read though. Glad something good came out of it.
